timing for reception

Oh my goodness my wedding is in 2 and 1/2 weeks. Time to get down to the exact details. My caterer needs the timing for everything so they know when to bring in the food. I have no clue how long things will last. I am having the horah first so after that is over should people sit down and have their salads and then we do our first dance? When are speeches during dinner? and when do we do the parent dances. Ugh I am going crazy with all of these details. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's what we did, and I think it worked well - but you will probably need to tweak it because we had food stations rather than a sit-down meal. Also, our DOC advised us to have all the speeches at the venue ahead of time and to give everyone strongly imposed time limits, which was definitely helpful. Introduction and Horah - 10 minutes Motzi by bride and groom who then welcomed the guests, thanked them for coming, and directed everyone to the stations for food. - 5 minutes Everyone gets up to eat - 20 minutes later, bride's parents spoke then groom's parents (3 minutes each) and the best man's toast (also 3 minutes) Bride and groom's 1st dance, ending with ever yone back on the dance floor for another 45 minutes or so of dancing (mostly more horah time, but also some regular music) Sorbet served at tables - at this point my husband and his friends sang for us (DH is a chazzan) followed by a short speech from my great uncle who's a rabbi (10 minutes) birkat with sheva brachot (10 minutes, we had all those people involved and our band leader decided to give us a slow guitar accompaniment) MOH sang for us (instead of a toast, 3 minutes) Open up the sweet table another 45 minutes or so until the vendors started to take things down... and we were done
