My husband is an avid soccer player. He's very very talented (and I'm not just sayin' that). He played all his life, through college - and now he plays on several men's teams in and around our city.He finally convinced me to play on a co-ed team with him. I have never played a sport... any sport... my whole life. This team is a bunch of super talented male soccer players, and their girlfriends/wives.I have to admit, I'm having a blast. It's been super fun to play with other women that have a similar 'level' to me -- but get to play with the guys that are so good.Tonight was playoffs and we lost in the first round... but I shocked myself and asked DH if we could sign up for another league. We start indoor soccer in 3 weeks and I'm so excited!The "quality" time with DH has been great too - doing something that he feels passionate about. I'm just so happy and having so much fun.now I'll skip back off into lurk-dom... la te dah, la te dah...

That's so cool. I played soccer when I was like 5 and it was a disaster. Btw, I love all of your shots around Austin.

My husband and I used to play on a co-ed softball team together. I am seriously awful and did NOT enjoy humiliating myself each week. Glad you are having fun!

That's great! I've never been a sporty person either but last summer I started playing volleyball with FI. He's played for years. I still get a little intimidated playing with him because he's so much better, but like you, we play in a league with a mix of talents. He appreciates that I try so hard even though I'm so uncoordinated.

yeah, I think DH is thrilled that I'm getting out there and running around. Even if I have no skills - I think he's proud that I'm trying! (he better be!!)

Thanks sucrets. I cannot get into the video game thing. DH rarely plays -- and if he does, he plays Mario Kart, and it makes me feel like I'm having a seizure. We are both so independant, having something "together" is very new and very fun. I like posting too - I just generally don't have too much to add - so I lay low.

Oh yeah, I can't do Mario Kart, plus I suck at 'traditional' video games. With WoW you run around and kill stuff, and I purposely do the really easy quests where it's practically impossible to die. I don't like challenges.Eh, a lot of times I feel like I can't add anything, but still do. Besides, I always like seeing your pretty pics! We should have ours soon. *crosses fingers*
