I was over on the nest reading about someone who wanted their ILs to pay them $1200 for surgery on their pet rabbit. Claimed the SIL didn't take proper care of it and that caused an injury.$1200 for rabbit surgery 0_0

I work the front desk. My main days are Saturday and Sunday, but I also fill in. So I'll be here Thursday too. Yuck. Haha, shan, I had this crazy guy call the front desk earlier: Me:"Front Desk" Guy: "Hey, did you turn my heat off?" Me: "Um, no sir, I have no control over your heat, you just control it with a thermostat." Guy: "Yeah, but some hotels have the power to shut off the heat for everyone, did you do that?" Me: "No, sir, I didn't, I don't have any way to do that." Guy: "Listen to what I'm asking you! DID YOU TURN OFF MY HEAT! IT"S FREEZING!!!" Me: "Sir, once again, I can't do anything with your heat, you control it with the thermostat." He hangs up on me. Crazy heifer.

LOL gotta love hotels. Last week we had a guy call down to the front desk from his cell phone and ask for my front desk agent to go up and into his room because he had locked himself out on his balcony in his boxers and couldn't get back inside..

I also busted two kids for making out on top of the computer desk tonight. They can't have been older than 13!!Shan, lots of angry businessmen. They're not happy to be away from their family for an extended time, so they are just generally hard to please.Oooh! We have a guy from Paris here! ::swoon:: His accent is sweeet!

tsk tsk on those kids making out. You should take it upon yourself to teach them about the herps -- maybe that will scare them into behaving at the hotel... at least for a couple more years, maybe? I can't imagine how embarrased I would have been if the hotel working found me... That's something a kid won't ever forget.

Whit- I'm the sales manager at a Courtyard by Marriott...are u in one of the renovated HIEs? They are beautiful!We mostly have angry businessmen too, so I SO know how you feel.One of the accounts I manage is all international guys in their mid 20s...the accents are amazing. Last week we had 3 guys from England, one from France, one from Morocco, one from Australia, and one from Scotland all at one time. ACCENT HEAVEN!

Lol, shan, before I went in to bust them (I saw them on the camera first) I texted my friend to tell her what I was about to do, and she texted back, "Tell them they're doing it wrong." LOL! Then I wasn't very serious when I kicked them out.

mills, yeah, I am. We're three years old but have made all the updates of the new HIE, and it's really paid off. We've kept almost all our business, despite a brand new Hampton going in right next to us. 63 rooms, 61 booked tonight, I worked so hard to get us full! Sucrets, I bet an Ireland accent is cool! Haven't heard that one yet!

Snow, I don't blame you one bit. I'd be doing the same thing 30 minutes ago if I wasn't here. Also, mills, I love the Courtyard hotels. They always seem really nice. Course, I don't stay anywhere else now but IHG hotels, gotta take advantage of my sweet discount

Last week we had a guy call down to the front desk from his cell phone and ask for my front desk agent to go up and into his room because he had locked himself out on his balcony in his boxers and couldn't get back inside..I am so glad that my FI and I are not the only idiots that have done this! Minus the boxers.Two Christmas Eve's ago we were in Toronto visiting with my parents. When we're down there, the kids stay at the condo and my FI and I go to a hotel a couple of blocks away. I went out onto the balcony to take in the sights of Yonge St. and called to my FI to come on out. He steps out and all I heard was "click". Yep the security latch caught behind him.I looked through the window and saw my purse and my coat lying on the bed, his cell phone on the night stand. With the security latches at this place the door didn't completely close so there was still about a 4-5 inch gap. We ended up having to take the screen off and I maneuvered it through the gap to knock the phone off the desk. Then using the screen again I had to pull the phone towards the gap so we could call the front desk.That took us a good 20 minutes, in the freezing cold, 17 stories up. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry but I felt like a complete tool calling down to the front desk.Oh, and this was at a Courtyard by Marriott as well

Oh we get a good laugh about it now. However whenever we check into the hotel room now one of the first things we do is check to see if we can disable the security locks while we're in the room haha.

omg 3+2 thats hilarious!!! The doors on the balconies must all be the same...we had another guy do the same thing a while ago too, but he didnt have his cell phone with him and wasn't as creative as you with the screen...instead he threw his chair from the 3rd floor over the balcony and on to the patio below and scared the front desk half to death (this was around 11PM) but luckily attracted their attention lol.
