Dress Pics (and knottie opinions)

So as most of you know I had my first fitting a two weeks ago and suprisingly I fit into my dress no problem! For those of you who don't know, I bought the dress in Jan as a sample and the boutique was going to add a panel from the hem under my arm b/c it didn't quite zip up all the way. So the good news is less alterations! Now I have a huge dilemma, the dress has a beautiful cherry bloosm lace but before we were going to make the dress strapless like the pic below. Now I can fit into the dress at the top I really love the lace. I just don't like the neck like - I included the knot photo below b/c I have my hair in the way. Does anyone have any suggestions what to do w/the neckline to make it a little more flattering? I've posted a bunch of pics below so opinions please! Do you like lace up or lace down and what to do w/the neckline?? TIA ladies!BTW - sorry for all the pics I errored on the side that more was better in this case!

I think the lace is what makes the dress so unique... It's pretty as a strapless dress, but def. does not look as unique. I would personally leave it just the way it is!

First off, the dress looks beautiful on you!My suggestion would be to make it a V-neck. Cut the lace down into a V so that some of the satin (or whatever fabric it is) underneath peeks through. I'm no seamstress, so I'm not sure if that is a feasible suggestion, but I think it would look very nice.

Hmm...I have to agree w/ pp. I really like it just the way it is. LOVE the lace. And I think it looks fabulous on you!

I agree with the other Jessica - the lace really makes this dress unique! If you don't like the neckline, I would just make it a bit of a bigger scoop neck. I wouldn't do anything that changes the back though, because that part is amazing!

I like the way it is in the 6th picture. I love the strapless look. You could also add a little dip for a slightly sweetheart neckline. I think its pretty!

BUT, like PP, what makes the dress unique is the lace. So it would still be gorgeous to leave all of the sheer lace. Illusion necklines are coming back!!

While I love it strapless, I hate losing the lace. Is there a way they could change the straps so they aren't as wide?

First of all, beautiful dress!! I love the lace too and like it the way it is. But if you want to change it, I think v-neck would be pretty or a scoop for that matter. I have no idea how much of that is feasible. GL!

they can do anything to the dress that I want done to it - I was maybe thinking a boat neckline of a V-neck? The only thing is in it's current form it's very minimzing on my chest which is a good thing - so I don't want to do anything that makes them look too big! If anyone has any pic suggestions that could definately help!

I would opt for a portait neckline. It is a pretty look that is still minimizing to the bust. I understand because I am pretty top heavy.... that way you could keep some lace still but have a pretty neckline!

I think it's gorgeous as is. Everyone wears strapless (myself included). Your look is so much more unique, IMO. I think if you left it as is and wore your hair up it would be just stunning.

It looks so gorgeous on you!!! Love the idea of doing a V-neck with the lace.

I love it strapless and I think a Vneck would work..I think you posted about this before and I think Jess and I suggested cap sleeves?? I think it would be a beautiful delicate touch without covering you up too much.

pardon my paint job :P but yeah...V neck totally. that way you can also keep the lace in the back which is my favorite part of your dress. you look great in it!

I like what elkaybie posted! I think it needs something like that, or the cap sleeves to make that front neckline a little more delicate.

OOOH - the V neck is really pretty. I would go that route!

Kristi, I love the lace. I don't think a v-neck would work very well with that dress's silohuette though. I think a boatneck or a deeper scoop would look great though. Here's what I came up with. This lets you keep all the lace on the back because it's still wide at your shoulders, but then it thins out as the scoopneck appears.
