Airbrushing

Did you do it? Did you like it? Did it look like... spray-on tan? Did you do makeup only or whole body?I was browsing some hair/makeup sites today and it looks like almost all of them offer it. Was hoping that I could get feedback from those of you who use it for makeup only, as well as body. Thanks!!

I did makeup only and I liked it.   It wasn't cakey like I thought it would be.  It didn't look like a spray on tan.   I have a fair complexion and it took out all the redness.  My mom and MOH did not get the airbrush done.  Looking at the pictures of us together, you wouldn't be able to tell who had the airbrush and who didn't.

Did it feel lighter than regular makeup? I don't wear or own makeup... so I'm really really nervous about makeup for my wedding day. At least we get to trial what it looks like first... I'm just worried that my family will be shocked and that I will look like I have a bunch of stuff on my face. =(

I believe it should feel lighter on your face. I am not a foundation type person so I am doing airbrush. It also stays better so with all the hugging and a white or semi white dress it shouldn't come off.

I couldn't really tell the difference.   I'm not much of a makeup person either.  I didn't have a trial either.   I just kinda went with it.    I thought it looked really natural.   When I looked in the mirror, it looked liked me, but only a loooot better!!  James/Glamsquad did my makeup and he didn't do anything drastic.    I was afraid that my makeup would be great for the pictures, but then it would be way overdone for just walking around and that wasn't the case at all..

I did not do it.  Your makeup artist (mine was Glamsquad) should tell you if you need it or if it would be better.

Did you do it? Yes!  Did you like it? LOVED IT!  Did it look like... spray-on tan? Nope!  Did you do makeup only or whole body?  Just face.I really liked it - I didn't have to worry about it for 13 hours, no touch ups, no smudging on guests shirts when we hugged or DH's tux.  It was just great!  I recommend moisturizing right before you do it and agree with PP - your makeup artist will be able to evaluate your skin type and advise you on whether or not it's for you.I must say though - I loved it!  :-)PIWB

Ashley makes a great point - MOISTURIZE BEFORE! I didn't use airbrush for my wedding, but have used it prior. It looks great, but can tend to be a bit dry and cakey w/o moisturizer. I opted against it, as it can streak from a tear - and there's no going back to fix it. (except for liquid foundation touch-up, which i'm not sure how well that would work) If you think those tears might be a rollin', give it some thought before deciding.

    I expect many tears >.<

Really?  I balled as I walked down the isle (I know, I know.....ugh!) and it was fine.  Hm....  I did have a hankie that I used to blot immediately though - maybe that's why I didn't streak?

Thanks for the heads-up on the moisturizer before and to watch for the streaking from tears.

I had airbrushed make up done and so did my mom.  We both absolutely loved it.  It does make you feel like you can't breath when he/she does it because of the air blowing in your face but I think it's well worth it.  I've never seen my mom look so gorgeous (even though I think she's gorgeous on an every day basis).  I rarely wear make up and after a few minutes of having it on I didn't notice it anymore.  I thought I looked natural and not done up.  Quite frankly it took me longer to get used to the fake lashes than anything.  I had my make up done around 9am...wedding was at 2, reception at 5 after party at 9 and even with me changing and such it still looked amazing.  In fact, I ended up passing out w/o washing my face and when I got up the next morning it still looked good.  I say go for it.

I had airbursh done and I cried a lot and it was FANTASTIC!  I wish I could find someone in the UK that would do it because it was brilliant, it didn't even feel like I was wearing foundation, you won;t regret it! xx

I had airbrush too. I have very dry skin and was worried it would flake off or look caked on but it was great. I did moisturize a couple of hours before I had it done. Pip.x

I just had it done last week at the Christophe Salon at the MGM Grand.  I'm getting married there on 10/3 and did it as a "test run."  I was not into it when the make up artist started telling me about it, but I got talked into it and LOVED it.  It looked great and I took some photos with my digital camera and was really happy with how it photographed.  It's not cakey -- it just looks very smooth and natural.  I had my face and part of my neck/chest was lightly covered as well.  Also, it lasted for hours!  Hope this helps.
