  I can beat that, It was 4 days before our wedding and my MIL called some of her relatives and asked if they wanted to come.  Then calls me and tells me after they were never on the invite list, seating chart and names had been done.  So I did what I had to do to (Please) her and didn't want to get a headache before the wedding AND THEY NEVER SHOWED UP.

  I had a family of four cancel their RSVP less than two days before the wedding. They didn't even call me or email or anything, my mother saw someone talking about how they couldn't come on facebook. I was so pissed I told my mother she could invite any 4 people she wanted, as long as they understood the situation and didn't care. She did, everyone was cool with it and they had a blast. I figured at least the seats got filled and money wasn't wasted. I never even got a card from the family who canceled.

  A little off topic, but we ended up paying for 5 people who just didn't come.  Well, one of them told me the day before, the others just didn't show up.  I'm still kind of unhappy, and MIL called the 2 of them from her family and apparently made them feel really guilty.  MIL is never mean to anyone; I was proud of her.
