Copies of Marriage License

Just got back from the honeymoon on Monday and now I get to do all of the official name changing "fun"!  How many copies did you get of the certified marriage license? I called the town to check and they charge $15 for each copy - I thought I would stop spending money once the weddign was over! TIA

    i only have 1 official copy and that's all i have needed. most places accept a photocopy of it for name change reasons. (like CC companies, etc)

    It's actually called marriage certificate. The liscense s what you get when you are applying to get married =)Mine was ready 5 or 6 days after the wedding. I picked it up in the town I got married in. I think it was $5/copy though. I really don't think you need more than 1 or 2. I have 3 & def did not need that many.

    I got 2 and they were $5 each.

    i got 2 they were $5 each the two came in handy since i had to mail one in or my passport name change

    wow, $15/copy is steep, I got 5 copies, and was glad that I did.  Several places wanted to see an original copy (passport, gas company, bank), so if I wanted to do that all at the same time, I needed multiple copies.  Mine were $7/copy.

    I purchased 4 at $15 but I think that 3 is more than enough.

    I got 2 at $5 per copy. I have never used the second one. Even though i did have to mail it away for my passport, that was one of the last things i updated, so i didn't need it for anything else. They sent it back to me 3 weeks later anyway.
