Program Help Please

I have two program issues that I'd appreciate help with! 1. I want to do paddle fan programs. Anyone have any templates they're willing to share? I found some online but figured I'd ask here too. 2. I want to do one-sided paddle fans meaning less space for information. We're not having a particularly traditional ceremony so I'm not sure if we're going to include the ceremony info. I was thinking just the intro (our names, date, and place), bridal party, and then a small note on the bottom for deceased loved ones. I've seen some before without this so I was wondering what you ladies were planning. Are any of you planning something along these lines, and if so are you willing to share?

This sounds like a really neat idea. Where are you getting the fans from? (And do you mind sharing the cost?) Thanks!

You can buy them custom made online but I'm planning to make them myself. I'm not much of a DIY person but I'm going to give it a shot. I know Devon made them herself and Ashley has pictures in her bio as well. I haven't priced them yet because I've really just started looking into it but if you google "paddle fan programs" a bunch of stuff will come up.

I'm sold! I bought a DIY program kit from michaels and I hate it, its so boring. I was thinking of doing the program stuff on one side, and maybe attaching black and white engagement photos on the other side? What do you think? I need to find some instructions on how to make these so I can gather up the materials soon and start working on them!!

Another thought (sorry im hijacking your thread.) What about using vistaprint to print the "fan" (since you an upload a photo) and attach these to the fan sticks? Do you think this would work? Thanks!

No worries on hijacking the thread. It helps me to throw ideas back and forth anyway. I think attaching engagement photos would be really cute! You have them so why not use them right? As for Vistaprint...I'm not sure. I have no experience with it. Someone like Ashley might be able to give us some input. It wasn't something I had considered!

I'm here!  I wouldn't recommend getting them printed off of Vistaprint because they'll probably be too flimsy.I got my template from Aylee Bits and it's worked pretty well.  It's a little annoying trying to get stuff to work within the template, but it's definitely easier than trying to draw a template myself.  You could also just design it having your information on a half sheet of paper and then rounding the corners (if that doesn't make sense, let me know!).  Devon and I both just did our information on one side of the fan and we were both able to fit everything.  I'm debating on adding either a thank you note or monogram to the other side.  Not exactly sure yet.

Navy you ordered the oversized postcards right? Do you think if I backed them on cardstock it would be okay? I'm anxious about printing, because I printed all my invitations here at work (thankfully they turned out well) but since I'm leaving soon I won't have a nice place to print them. What kind of paper are you planning on using?

I ordered the regular size postcards.  But I think if you backed them with cardstock then you should be fine. I'm doing two sheets of cardstock back to back on a paint stirrer stick to make my fan.

Any my last silly question :) How to you plan to attach the paper and stick? I think a hot glue gun would show through the paper (maybe?), glue stick won't hold.

Rubber cement is a paper project wonder!  Try it, it's amazing.  Make sure you're in a well ventilated room though, because it stinks.

Your list sounds fine to me. You're welcome to check my program in my Bio under Ceremony, but it has more info :)
