Poll: What aspects of your wedding are being held outdoors?

For me, I'm having the ceremony and cocktail hour outside. We are using the same garden lawn and splitting it in half. The front half for the ceremony, the back half for the CH, where we will have a large tent set up. I'm so excited!

  • DD's ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside. The guests will then move to the tent for dinner. After dinner there will be entertainment out in the yard and later a bonfire-complete with s'mores! :)
  • everything will be outside except the bar, bathroom & a few tables if you need to get out of the heat/sun.

  • Our ceremony is outside and our reception is inside.
  • our ceremony and cocktail hour were to be outdoors.. As you can see from my first post, it did not happen.. I would not discourage people from having the same plan.. just have a backup plan is all I suggest. It can't rain ever wedding day right???

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • We are having our ceremony outdoors in the courtyard of a historic hotel. The sit-down dinner will be inside a dining room, just off the courtyard but is easily accessible through french doors.  The dance floor for the reception will be set up inside the dining room but we will also have cocktail tables set up in the courtyard so guests can easily move indoor or out throughout the reception. Hopefully, it'll be nice.
  • Our ceremony will be held outdoors, in front of a gazebo, and the guests will be underneath a kind of fancy pavilion (PIB).  The h'orse deuvers and reception will be indoors, although we have the option of having the cocktail hour outside, too.
  • Our ceremony is outside in the main park downtown and then the reception is inside. I am thinking of doing light drinks (sweet tea and water since we are in the south) after the ceremony since they will have some time before the cocktail hour starts at the reception location.
  • I am having the ceremony & cocktail hour outside next to the water under a tent. We are doing all the speeches, cake cutting, garter toss, etc inside the reception hall. Then back outside to dance the night away under the stars....
  • Our ceremony will be held outside in a sculpture garden, and the reception will include an indoor location and a small outdoor courtyard that is attached for more space. I am so excited!!
  • I am having the ceremony and recpetion at my Aunt's house, so we have the ceremony site set up for in front of her pond and the dining tables will be outside as well. She has a huge house set up for entertaining so people will be able to go in/out very easy.
