  Just don't shop at a "wedding" store.  Go to a regular clothing store and get a regular party outfit.  That way she won't end up with one of those floor-length lilac taffeta monstrocities with matchingly lilac blazer.  ugh

  try J Crew, they have some really nice bridal party dresses........also in the bridal store the Jim Hjem line is very pretty....not the typical MOB look.....

  We got my mom's from dillards it is in Colbat blue and I paid $85 including tax for it.   I like the idea of going to Macy's or Nordstrom's. People have said that about Bridesmaids dresses too, but I think that is pushing it. I do hate some of those Mother dresses, my mom tells me that she would rather die than where those dresses for "fat old ladies." haha, My mom isn't exactly thin or young. I think you two just walking around stores will be nicer than going to one bridal shop and looking at some of those ugly things.
