Need dance lesson recs

Hi ladies. FI finally gave in and is willing to take dance lessons before our wedding. I would like somewhere that could teach us all different styles and hopefully doesn't cost a lot. Anyone have some good recommendations?

In Austin Go Dance is really good. Near the old Northcross Mall - Anderson Lane and Mopac area. I think the group lessons are better than private. HTH

We just started taking a ballroom class through UT informal class. 5 one-hour lessons for $60/person. We're not alumni of UT, but it is cheaper if you are. www.informalclasses.org

Thanks. I'll definitely check both of those out.

We had a couples shower at Austin Dance Institute and it was AWESOME!! I highly recommend them plus I think they do some free or cheap classes on Friday nights.

I second Dance Institute - I danced ballroom with most of the teachers and students there for a couple years and they are great. Curtis Prevost there is my personal fave - and my FI loves him. We did some private lessons with him last year and he is going to do our wedding dance for us. His e-mail is: curtprevost@yahoo.comDance International is also good. Stewart Yaros is an excellent instructor and nice guy and I was with them for about two years...they are the most reasonably priced studio in Austin.

FI and I are taking lessons with Dance For A Lifetime. We've only had a couple classes, but so far it's pretty good! http://www.danceforalifetime.com

FI and I took two classes at Dance for a Lifetime and...they were very nice, but I wouldn't recommend them. It might not bother everyone, but the fact that they held the class in the living room of their condo was a little weird to us. Additionally, I found the price to be rather high for what was done. If they offer any classes at an actual studio then I'm sure it would be really good, but the messy living room thing was a big turn off for us.

Well, I used their 50% off deal from the bridal extravaganza, so it was really a no brainer for us. I don't really mind taking the lessons in the living room... it doesn't seem messy to me really. I guess it's all a matter of personal taste.
