  It will really depend on your location and what you want.  Do you want the officiant to travel to an obscure location?  Or attend the rehearsal dinner? Write an elaborate ceremony?   All of those will matter to determine price.
  
  If you are just looking for someone to perform a simple ceremony, I would suggest Craigslist.  I saw some on there for Northern California for about $200-400.

  We are using Rev. Bob Schneider...he got good reviews on Weddingwire.  Check out his website: www.weddingrevbob.com. He charges about $245.  Hope that helps!

  Your venue may have one they work with/recommend. 

  Also, in California you can have a friend or family member perform your ceremony.

  My BIL performed our ceremony. Of course the fee was great  

  But it also made it really personal and special.
