makeup trial+epics= good or bad

Debating whether having my makeup trial for my e-pics is a good or bad idea.  I don't want to look too made up for the e-pics.  Plus there's a chance I wouldn't like the makeup... Then again, it might add a little somethin-somethin:) What did you do?

I think it depends on how dressed up you plan on getting for your epics.

It depends on how dramatic your wedding makeup will be, and how made up you're comfortable being generally.  I had very natural wedding makeup because I hate myself in too much makeup, so I would have been okay with it.  But at my first makeup trial, the girl put eyeliner on my lower lids, which was enough for me to think it was waaaay too dramatic.  I wouldn't have been okay with that for e-pics.Many of the makeup trial pics I've seen posted here look like they'd be way too dramatic for epics-- but again, it all depends on your comfort level with makeup.

Personally I wouldn't have the make up trial for my wedding day look before the e-pics then. I don't think the level of formality would match. This is also coming from someone who doesn't wear any make up on a day to day basis so take it FWIW.

I did my make-up trial on the same day as our e-pics.  Lauren from expertmakeupartistry.com was awesome and she didn't over do the make-up.  I also feel like I was still able to get a good idea of how she will work for the wedding day eventhough the make-up wasn't "wedding day" make-up =)  Our e-pics were casual but im still happy i had my make-up done...it made them feel a little more special and myself a little more confident!

I agree with pp, it depends upon what you wear make-up wise on a normal basis.  I wear make-up every day, and did up my make-up for my e-pics, so I think it could be a good idea.

I did that and ended up not really loving the makeup, and as a result not really liking at pictures. Actually hating the pictures, but only partly due to the makeup. It was kind of good, because I didn't realize how much I didn't like the makeup until I saw the photos.About it being formal...I sort of disagree. I think "the look" comes from the overall package. When you're dressed casually, it tones down the look a lot. Unless you never wear makeup really, then I could see it would look like too much, you wouldn't look like you. OR if you're planning to wear really dramatic makeup, then that'd look off too. But for regular wedding makeup, I think it's fine in that sense.

as long as the makeup isnt overdone, or you can like wipe off some of the eyeliner, etc., sure why not.  i wouldn't want to look too done up for epics, they should be natural.
