I suck. I have an invite question.

No, it's not to look at them or proof them - MrsB did that for me already awhile back. Our RSVP date is Sept 24. So when should we send out the invites? I thought Aug would be ok, but J is insistant that we get them out sooner. We're at our 3 month mark now. Is that too early?

Re: I suck. I have an invite question.

  • Three months seems a little too early, you want to send them out 6-8 weeks in advance. If it's a DW I think you can get away with doing it a little sooner though.

  • Woah! Wait! When did my invites get addressed? Did the majic address fairy come do them for me?
  • Well crap! I assumed when I asked you last night how you're doing the return address they were already done. My bad :)

  • The return addresses were pre-printed when we got the invites. I ordered those remember? I'm DREADING addressing the invites, but will probably get on that this weekend. Clear address labels what?
  • Yeah, I remembered you ordered your invites, I just didn't realize the return address was pre=printed. I almost brought my envelopes with me to work on while I'm at the hotel, but didn't.

  • The majority of our guests were OOT, so we sent out STDs about 6 months before. Then we mailed out invitations about 8 weeks before and gave everyone until 1 month before to send their RSVP back. Our guest list was ~125, and probably ~100 were from out of state, if that matters. It worked fine for us.

  • Don't ask me. We're six weeks out and ours still haven't gone out yet (and rsvp is in two weeks). FI is doing the invites and we had originally agreed three months would be a good time to send them, especially for his inter-state relatives... so no, I don't think that's too early.
