NWR~half way done ..

I'm so happy!!!!! I went to my weight control center yesterday and have lost 13 pounds since January 4....so that means I'm half way done. Only 13 more to go.............yayyy. Is been so hard not to eat everything i want but all i think about is "wedding dress, wedding dress". I'm also going to start going to the gym again and doing some zumba...so hopefully but the end of April I will be done with my weight goal.

Have many pounds have you lost since you started your diet and how many more do you want to loose?

what tips can you share...

  • Thats awesome. Congrats!!

I have lost about 15 lbs. since I got engaged, I want to lose 5-10 more over the next several months.

I have found that eating 4-5 small meals a day and tracking what I eat on spark people (or something similar) has really helped put my eating habits where they should be. I have also found that resistance training really makes a difference. Before I was doing tons of cardio, and that's it. It didn't change much, but adding weights really helped!

  • That's great! I started walking on a treadmill for an hour 3x a week. I need to be more consistent but the first week I walked 5.5 miles and lost 5 lbs. Just need to stick to it because I really wanna tone up for the honeymoon!
  • That's great - Congrats! I've lost 10 lbs since we've been engaged but I'd like to lose 5 to 10 more.

  • Congrats! That is great! I haven't lost any weight but that isn't my goal. I've noticed a difference in my body, energy and overall attitude though. I run/lift 4-5 days a week and I track my food on myfitnesspal.com. It helps tremendously!

  • That's awesome! As of the last time I weighed myself, I've lost 7 lbs. since we got engaged (in November of 2010) and I'm hoping to lose 10-11 more.

<div>You lost 5 lbs. in one week? Were you eating enough? You're really only supposed to lose a max of 2 lbs. a week.</div>
  • FI and I made changes to our routines. We both wanted to improve our energy and overall health.

The best thing for me was making challenges out of it with my FI. We are both rather competitive so we would push each other. We have gotten into racquetball it has kept me from being bored and we push ourselves to try and beat the other.

  • Great job!!!

I have lost 8 since my heaviest this year. I am down 4 from my starting weight in Nov. of 2010. I need to lose a pound a week to get to my goal weight by the wedding, which is going to be tough for me. I have 16 to go I think, so it is slow going.

  • I hate scales so we don't own one.  The only one I have is the Wii fit, but I know that's not really accurate.  According to that, I've lost almost a lb in 2 days.  Again, I don't really believe it because at the end of my workout it told me I gained .2 of a lb since the beginning.  I pretty much want to get rid of my little belly and love handles.

Yay---only 4 months from tomorrow for us!  I've lost about 5 pounds since we got engaged 3 months ago.  I should have lost more, but haven't been diligent about the diet and exercise.  I'd like to lost at least 16 more.  Thirty-two pounds would be great, but 16 would put me back down to where I was before I met FI and he started taking me out to eat at every buffet in the tri-state!  It took me several months to realize that I shouldn't eat as much as him (he's a foot taller than me!).

Myfitnesspal has helped a bunch!  It certatinly motivates me to exercise when I see how burning the extra calories will help me lose more weight in a 5 week period.  I bought an eliptical in October and find if I put a good show on TV (Cold Case!), the 30 minutes goes by quicker.

I tried the 17 Day Diet in August.  It's low carb and retrains your body to eat healthier food.  I only made it about 20 days, but lost 5 pounds.  I may go back on it right before the wedding.  It takes a lot of prep work since you can't eat any processed food.
