Tasting!

We had our tasting last night to choose our menu -- it was awesome! Our reception is going to be at Bretton Woods, and they were so sweet to us last night, we had a full meal. The food was amazing. They've also been really accommodating of my very, very severe food allergies, so I'd recommend them to anyone worried about something like that.

Question -- when you guys did your tastings, did you do them while another wedding was going on? I understand that it's easier to serve us when they're already preparing food for someone else, and it didn't bother US, but we felt bad walking through all the people in fancy clothes during their cocktail hour (to get to the office where we ate). No one saw us while we were there (though the bridal attendant also waited on us and was awesome), but we literally ran into the bride when we were walking out the door (she had been outside taking photos) and for some reason I felt bad!

I'm going to be having my tasting this coming Friday afternoon, and it will not be when any other events are occuring. I'm getting married at the Marriott-Park Ridge, and they specifically wanted to schedule it when there were no other events happening, so they could set up the room and a table the way it will be on the day of our wedding. I've actually never heard of a tasting during an event.

Our venue typically does the tasting during another event.  They want couples to know what the day of food will taste like when they are cooking for 100+ people and not just for a tasting.

There are many places that do the tasting while an event is going on. They do this so you can see how the food taste during events, because some places can have an awesome tasting, but the day off not deliver.
