Ultrasonic jewelry cleaners?

Does anyone have one/know anything about them? There's one on sale on Amazon from $99 to $14.99 and I'm tempted. We live in a different state than where we bought my engagement ring (and will buy my wedding band) so I can't take it in there to get cleaned regularly. I also have a fair amount of other nice jewelry I'd like to take care of. I figured for $14 I can't go too wrong, but I'd like to make sure it's not going to eat away at my ring or something. TIA.

You know any jewelry store will clean your jewelry if you walk in with it and look around right? It doesn't have to be where you bought it.

My sister makes jewelry as a hobby. She has an ultrasonic cleaner and I clean our rings in it regularly. It works wonders, and is safe for the jewelry. We just use a bit of hot water and a drop or two of dish soap. I love how shiny it makes the rings.

Oh really? Huh, that's strange. I've always had people ask if they can clean my ring for me while I look around. In that case, I think $14 would be totally worth it. You can also gently clean your rings with a gentle soap and soft brush too.

I have one from Brookstone ($40). I love it. Every day I put my ring in (plus whatever other jewellery I am going to wear) while I am in the shower. You only need hot water, so you can feel safe putting anything in. My ring sparkles! I love it so much, I have given 3 as gifts. I highly recommend one.

A soft bristle toothbrush and dish soap works really well and is super cheap. ; )

It won't eat away at your ring, when I worked at Helzberg, we used Mr clean diluted with water. There are a ton of things that you can't put in there though: Aquamarine Pearls Emeralds Pink Tourmaline Cubics Moissanite also, if you have a loose stone, it can jiggle it out, so make sure you wiggle each stone before. Also, make sure it has a basket, if you leave it on the bottom too long with can leave a small burn mark on your gold.

I clean my ring with a small drop of ivory soap and a soft electric toothbrush. My mom does the same.

We have some at work for cleaning hearing aid earmolds. $14 sounds like an amazing price. We all occasionaly throw our rings and jewelery in there with a little windex or soapy water.
