for those of you with macy's registries....

since i didnt know this till today, i figured i would pass it along: if you are doing returns from your registry, make sure you have your macys card with you. you have the option of returning for a credit to your macys charge instead of getting merchandise credit- which means that you can then purchase different items off your registry, use coupons, AND get 10% toward your registry rewards instead of the 5% and NOT being able to use a coupon if you purchase with merchandise credit turned into a pretty freakin sweet deal for me today!

yup, i was at the one in west farms this time, she was the cashier in the china dept(i went there since it was all china pieces that have to be returned) we opened the registry in meriden, and she didnt mention it at that time but i also didnt open a macys account until we opened the registry, cause you need it to get the registry star rewards, and i hadnt ever really bought anything there before.

I learned this from Macys this week too!  And, since we are going to be away on our honeymoon right after the wedding, we are going to miss the extra 20% off completion bonus, so she gave it to us last night.  Between gift cards and returns, we made out really well. The women at the Macys in Milford are awesome!

they also volunteered this info cause i returned all the doubles from my shower last weekend, cause the silverware for our china set is on a sale- buy 3 get one free, and a wooden storage box, so i went in, and got 12 sets of silverware for the price of 9, PLUS the wooden box, so now we can return the one we registered for, and get the last of the wine glasses and goblets for our china :-)

the 20% happens more than once, dont worry your registry stays active for a year, and they have organized weekends that are 20% completion for everyone that has had their wedding, instead of the 10 or 15% it normally is
