Traffic concern.

Hello Ladies...I'm in a doctoral program and not getting out until 2014.  We've been tossing up dates ranging from late August 2010 to June 2011 (big range).  I realized that today because of internships and dissertations that will be coming up in 2011, it might be too busy of a time - even for me (I love being busy/planning)!  So I was thinking either the last Saturday in August (8.28) or the first weekend in September (9.4)... but here's the thing.  The venue is in Wilmington, DE.  I can only GUESS how much traffic there would be on 95 heading into DE - ESPECIALLY Labor Day weekend.My question... does anyone know what it's like on 95 around this time?  It will be a Saturday night wedding so maybe that would help since beach-goers usually go Fridays, but still.  And I know guests could technically get a room so they could come early or whatever, but I don't want anyone to feel obligated.What do you think?  Ugh.  I don't know.  Words of encouragement please?

    I think your right about beach traffic - most comes in Fri night, so your guests SHOULD be ok...  We are having a Labor Day weekend wedding 2009.  For the most part, everyones been pretty good about it and we havnt gotten too much bull for being a holiday weekend.  Only issue was, if you have alot of OOT guest, the flights are a bit more expensive then normal.  I have a handful of family in Cali that all wanted to come, but only 2 are out of the 7. The pros of having it that weekend are, its a long weekend and anyone traveling has a extra day.  We have alot of people driving from NY, CT, and PA so having the extra day to travel is definately helping. Just to throw it out there - we are having our wedding Sunday, and we are getting a great discount...  Because its a 3 day weekend for most, its almost like a Sat, but less $. HTH's

    My wedding is set for 8/28/2010....beach traffic is usually on Fridays and Sunday evenings, so I think it will be ok. I think it just depends on where the majority of your oot guests are coming from. Traffic on 95 is always horrible during certain times of day- no matter what season it is!
