Hi. I was wondering if any of you had/or was going to get your parents (and his too) a gift?  And what your ideas were? Thanks!

I got my mom a pair of really great diamond earrings I found that were so perfect for her- it was totally spur of the moment.  My dad got a double frame with two dress up wedding" pictures we took when I was 5...I engraved "Forever Your Sweets (what he calls me) on one side and the wedding date on the other.  His parents got an anniversary clock/frame from Things Remembered with their names and wedding date engraved on it.

I got both of our moms embroidered hankerchiefs that say "mother of the bride" and "mother of the groom" with our wedding date.  We're also getting them both digital picture frames that we'll load pics onto after the wedding.

We got my parents a night away to Motor City Casino in Detroit along with dinner at the Melting Pot in Troy, MI.  My parents paid for most of the wedding, so we wanted to get them something really nice.We got his dad a digital photo frame with a bunch of pics loaded onto a memory card for it.

I will definitely be getting gifts for my mom as well as his parents, who are all contributing to the wedding.  Not sure yet what we'll do for them...but we want them to know how much we appreciate their help.

I got silly gifts for my parents as little tokens of appreciation, and then real parent gifts for his parents and my parents.I gave my mom a Bridezilla action figure that I created using a Godzilla action figure (purchased at Toys R Us), complete with veil, bouquet, mini program, and red lipstick. It was so cute, and she loved it. Just an ode to my worst moments during planning. :) Then I gave my dad a personalized Kleenex box with a picture of him holding me when I was a baby. I put "I love you, Dad!" and our wedding date on it. It was intended to be used when he cried at the ceremony (he's a crier), but now he keeps it on his desk at work.  I ordered it from www.mykleenex.com.  It was 4.99 plus shipping. Then, for the "real" parent gifts, we got each set of parents a hand-blown glass pumpkin from a local artist (the wedding was in the fall):...and a gift certificate for a night at the Mansion View Inn, a bed & breakfast in the Old West End of Toledo on Collingwood Blvd. My parents used theirs for their anniversary last week, and enjoyed it.  www.mansionviewtoledo.com.
