If you google, there are a few lists that pop up on weddingbee and that sort of thing.  We're still way out from doing this, but I'm thinking water, Dr. Pepper, Austinuts, how-to-drive-around-Austin-without-going-crazy guide, etc.  And we'll do one per hotel room.

We did BBQ sause from Salt Lick, personal match book, bluebonnet seeds, travel candles from by lights out, longhorns from Lammes Candy, simple toys for those guest that had kids (colors and colorbooks, etc, depending on age of child) brochure that we made of things to do/maps, etc. post cards of imagines of Austin, travel Advil, Sweet Leaf Tea. in a canvas recycle bag with our names and date on it.  We also did one per hotel room.  however, we did have a few single girls sharing hotel rooms so of course they each got one.  Have fun with it.  Just think how to do you want to welcome your guest.

We're not doing them, but I wish we were! About 80 percent of our guest list is from out of town, so it just wasn't in the budget.I would say do 1 for each hotel room though, not 1 per person.

Ideas I had included all things that made me think of Austin... I thought of a lot of the same things as jervin and also Tiff's Treats, Texas shaped corn chips and central market salsa, a write-up of things to do/places to check out (Esther's Follies, cool restaurants, Barton Springs, etc), a Texas music CD... And I agree with putting one per room. However, depending on the items you include, it might be courteous to put more in the room if it's a group of singles like jervin said. Emkay: I have been thinking about this a lot because our guest list is 85% OOT. I'm with you... I really don't know how we would afford providing a welcome bag to all of them. A friend told me she just put them in the rooms of people who had booked at her recommended hotel, so that cut down on the number. (It was impossible to locate EVERYONE with such a high percentage of OOT people.)
