Buying my dress today...nervous.

I'm going to buy my dress today and I'm surprisingly nervous about it. The problem is that this store doesn't let you take pics. Whenever I'm there in person I love the dress...but we all know how we've said that sometimes a dress that we love in person we hate in photographs. I'm so afraid that I'll spend all of this money on the dress and then see a pic of me in it at my first fitting and I'll hate it. Did anyone have this problem? If you just ordered the dress and hoped for the best, how did it work out? It's so stupid. It said who the designer was on the tag. It took me about 2 minutes to find the dress on the website. I don't see the point in no pics! :(

  • If you've already purchased it, then they should be allowing you to take photos. Ask them about this. Everyone I know said that even if their shop didn't allow photos during the shopping process, they let the bride take as many photos as she wanted as soon as the deposit was made. The "no photos" rule is usually only BEFORE you buy it, so that you don't take the photos to a dressmaker or try to buy it online for a lower price. Once you pay for it, it's yours.

  • I agree, if you buy the dress, there is NO REASON they shouldn't let you take a pic. I'm sure it's just nereves though, and you'll be gorgeous. :) Who is it by? I'm curious. :)

  • Oh, they probably will. But then it's purchased. I just wish I could have seen a pic of me in it to make the actual decision. Thanks girls! It's a Blue by Enzoani gown. Style: Adana www.bluebyenzoani.com It's under the 08' collection

  • Is there another shop in your area that sells the gown? The shop I went to had a sign posted in the dressing rooms but when I asked they let me take a picture.  They said it was more of a courtesy to the designer or some designer require the no pictures sign to be posted.Maybe another shop was more relaxed rules. Its worth a try.
  • What store is it?  I visited a few shops in Jax that had a no-picture policy, but I took some anyway ;).  Usually you can sneak them in the dressing room as you're changing (a cell phone camera would be good to use for that because it's less conspicuous lol).  Or if someone goes with you, just have them sneak a quick picture when the consultants aren't looking.  I was really nervous before I bought my dress too so you're not alone!

  • My bridal salon didn't let me take pictures until after I paid a non-refundable deposit either, but when I finally found my "the one" dress, I was not concerned about how it would look in pictures. I could just tell it would look amazing! I know some people think that and then end up hating it in pictures, but in my case it turned out just fine. PIB of my dress.Your dress is stunning, by the way. I think that material photographs especially beautifully. :)
  • Congrats on buying the dress!  It's beautiful so you made a great choice :).  I can't believe the bridal shop at the avenues said you can't take pics though.  I went there on 3 or 4 separate occasions (because I'm indecisive lol) and took a million photos each time, right out in the open, and they didn't seem to have a problem with it.  Strange.
