Good news, new date chosen

We originally had 10.25.09 of this year slated.  The stresses of planning (without much imput from FI) and his lay-off from work led to it being postponed.  This was in late April. While we didn't sit down and have the talk that I would have preferred, after preparing a list of dates and the pros and cons of each, he agreed with what I called my Plan B and we have chosen Sunday, May 30, 2010.  The three-day weekend will help for a few out of town guests (mostly my side) and allow us to party it up a bit more.We are currently gearing up to move during the month of September.  August will be spent packing and throwing stuff out and preparing for the move; once we are done he says that he'll be more focused in looking at venues.  I know places book early and in advance, and given this is a holiday weekend there may be some challenges. It would appear a lot of places I am considering still have openings as of now, but who knows in a few more weeks.  I've also decided to look to NJ for locations (as close to the city as possible).  The problem is that he's got some family one LI and I have a few friends who don't own cars.  Should I try my best to do something in the NYC area near transportation or with enough advanced notice, if we should pick a place in NJ, do you think that'll be problematic?Of course, if we were just going to have any food, it wouldn't matter, but that we'll need kosher food adds to the stresses of finding a place in such little time.  Other than this, I have just about everything else done (photographer, potential invitations, ketubah, dress, etc.); just need to find a DJ and florist, though the venue might have good recommendations for the latter.Any thoughts?  For those in NJ or NYC who had an event in NJ, any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

HOpe you see this - check out the Newark Club- if necessary it is possible for people to take the train to Newark and even walk to the venue. Can't remember which hotel is there but I stayed there and it was fine. My friends daughter was married there and it was a wonderful venue. They didn't do kosher but I am pretty sure they do have a kosher caterer you can use. good luck

Newark Club is on the list; the website looked really nice and it is quite convenient to get to. Decisions... decisions... I know though I've got to get on the ball soon; holiday weekends book up fast!
