Scottish Kilt Rentals

Alright girls, so I am the MOH in a october wedding of next year and the wedding is going to be scottish traditional. We know you can buy kilts but they are so expensive. Does anyone know of a place locally where you can rent them from or anyone a good seamstress that would be willing to make them even.....lol. Thanks!!!

Oh and if it matters the fabric needs to be the Mackenzie tartan.

I would think that any seamstress worth her salt could make one if she had a pattern. Try contacting Denise at Julianne's Bridal Outlet. I know she makes dresses. She may be able to make a kilt. Also, Gail Czapor, a Parma seamstress is supposed to be very good and reasonably priced, too.I'd bet that you'd have to provide the fabric, but if you are trying to find a specific pattern, you'd probably have to order it yourself anyway. Bummer that the Oberlin Scottish Games were last month. I know there are vendors selling tartans there every year. Online would likely be your best bet.Good luck!

If you're looking to rent, you might try calling some of the Celtic gift/misc stores in the area. Given the fact that there are so many tartans, it's probably unlikely that you'd find the one you need (and in the proper size) for rent, but you never know. Gaelic Imports on Pearl Rd. comes to mind.
