Home Design Ideas

Does anyone have any sites or blogs they follow for decorating their home? FI and I moved in together a year ago, and have slowly been replacing our hand-me downs. We got a great deal on a couch we were looking at for the past year by buying the floor model. It's awesome, but we didn't really think through the design of the room, so I'm looking for some living rooms that have a light pear green color scheme. If anyone wants to throw their two cents in, this is our new sexy beast: http://tinyurl.com/n5yuaw. I named it Kermit. It is just the chaise and armless loveseat- not the full couch attached on the right.

  • I love http://www.sarahrichardsondesign.com/and http://www.designinc.ca/home/She uses a lot of light colours in her designs so you should be able to find something that works with light green. HTH!

What about HGTV.com? I watch a lot of those shows and they are always telling viewers to go to their website for more design ideas.

  • I don't have any sites or blogs, but I have a lot of two cents ;)  I think that's a great color, really bright and happy.  But IMO, there can easily be too much of that color, and I'd look at decorating with a coordinating (maybe a darker green) or contrasting color.

  • BROWN! Brown and green are amazing together. Very neutra/classicl...vs using turquoise (which you will grow tired of after a shorter period) - which is trendy.

  • pumpkin, I love brown and green together... but thats the combo we already have going in the bedroom! What's another accent color to throw in there?
  • Oh I love it! I'd love to see pale grey, this color and dark coffee brown together in a room. Is your other furniture good stuff, or hand me downs? I'd paint the existing old furniture dark, dark brown and paint the walls pale grey. If you can find a cool textile with those colors in it, make some throw pillows using the iron-on webbing at Wal-Mart. I'm so jealous! That is really a cool piece.
  • How about pale yellow?
