Obtaining music: Do they offer their current playlist only, or can they bring other music that you request? (Some DJs will have you bring songs if it is not already in their collection.) Do they do announcing or just music? Help keep the reception moving along? Do they have the option of a "play/do not play" list so you can say no Chicken Dance if you want? Do they have equipment if you need it for sound at the wedding (mics, amps, etc) and is it an additional fee from the reception? Do they have lighting packages (if that is something you are interested in?) How is pricing - hourly or by the job?Do they have a reference list so you can contact clients for feedback? Will they provide you a playlist to go through and select things you like?Hope that helps - those are the things that I asked!

Also, if it's hourly, you may want to know what happens if you happen to go over. You may not plan for this to happen but it is always good to know what the scenario would be!

If you're interested, we are using StageMonsters. They have WiF capabilites at all times and can download any song your guest request if they don't already have it. Their price also includes lighting and a projection screen for slides shows. They are reasonably priced and incredibly nice. We're using Brandon for our reception, so far he's been amazing! www.stagemonster.com

PP kinda covered it all, just make sure there is a "play/do not play" list for sure. Also, the majority of receptions go over, so discuss what overage costs look like (some vendors charge you a TON if you go over even 20 minutes).GL!
