I was just about to post this. They're buying all of the alcohol and hiring a bartender, but they want to make money off of their guests to raise money for their honeymoon so they're making it a cash bar. Then she said it wouldn't all go towards her honeymoon, but that it would go towards their $15,000 loan they took out to pay for the wedding. Idiot.

It is so silly to impress people that don't care about how insanely elaborate your wedding was, they just want you to start off happy. Starting in debt like that is crazy.

I feel guilty enough right now having student loan debt. I can't imagine the guilt/stress I would feel with a $15,000 wedding loan hanging over my head. Dumb dumb dumb.

She apparently has $800 budgeted for alcohol. So she really has no reason to charge for the drinks other than she wants to make money. Ugh.

I looked at some Maggie Sottero gowns when I was browsing wedding dresses. It really depends on what style you get. One that I looked at was under $1000, but I know others were much more.
