Addressing Invites/STDs

I am addressing save-the-dates and have some questions.I work with female doctors who are married. I know the Mr. always comes first, but my question is, is itMr. & Mrs. John SmithorMr. & Dr. John SmithorMr. John Smith & Dr. Jane SmithWhat about when there are different last names? Would it beMr. Christopher James & Dr. Paula Burke? Or do they go in alphabetical order. This stuff is confusing!I feel weird addressing them to the significant others of my friends and co-workers. Like, I'm friends with Jane Jones, but the invite goes to Mr. & Mrs. John Jones. Haha, I'll get over it. Have to do what's proper. TIA!

I ran into this too. For my friends and co-workers who are female, and if i'm inviting their SO's, then I would put Mr. & Mrs. John Doe.For the Dr. thingie I would put...Mr. John & Dr. Jane DoeOr if they have differnet last names but are married I would put...Mr. John Doe & Dr. Jane Deer. I don't know if it's correct, but that's what i did. HTH!

Actually, the correct way is to put whomever has the title first, out of respect for their amount of schooling. So, you would put Dr. Jane Doe and Mr. John Doe. If both have titles, you put "The Doctors Smith". We ran into this problem with our pastor, since his wife has her doctorate. Since they both have titles, We listed him first: The Reverend John Doe and Doctor Jane Doe.
