I am having my reception at the Newberry Library next Sept.  I am looking for advice on caterers from other brides that have gotten married there.  Also, looking for any input as to your experience at the library and with the Karens.

    I am getting married there in March. I am VERY happy so far. The Karens have been great to work with so far. They know a lot of people in the business and are well respected by many vendors. I am using Chris from D'Absoulte Catering. I could not be more happy with his service. The food is amazing and the price is very reasonable.     Also using D' Absolute for my wedding in 2 months. The most affordable by far. and Chris is awesome!  :) I had my tasting, and the food was great. contact me for questions: nicolek813@hotmail.comhappy wedding planning!

    I'm having my reception there next May. I'm using Hearty Boys as my caterer. I don't think they were on the list of recommended caterers that the Karens gave me, but they've done many weddings there. I think they're more than D'Absolute, but they were cheaper many of the other caterers I talked to. And their food was by far the best that I tasted.

    I'm using Froggys this August, he was very cheap and received very good reviews on there...I can't review until my wedding is over.

    I just got married at the Newberry (by just I mean almost 7 weeks ago). I'll write my real reviews this week. We used Occasions. The service was great. Marshelle from Occasions made our timeline, helped with all decisions and replied immediately to my emails (even on Sunday nights). Marshelle was so on top of things that, we shouldn't have wasted our money on a DOC.

    Hi there, my fiance and I are getting married at the Newberry Library next July and are using Simply Elegant catering.  Debra, the owner, is awesome!  The prices are slightly higher than D'Absolute, which we also tried, but for the feel and elegance that we're going for, we decided Debra was a better match. If you need any other recommendations, let me know!  I'd love to recommend some of the other vendors we've booked! Maria

    GL on your wedding planning. The Newberry is a wonderful place for a reception. We just got married 2 months ago and had our reception at the Newberry. We priced a few caterers during the planning process and went up to Highwood to taste test Froggy's. Dollar for Dollar, it is the best tasting and most well priced IMO. We still recieve complements from our guests that the food and cake was wonderful. It's nice to know that people still remember the food.
