FSMIL is gifting us the limo...VENT

So....apparently she is like dating the owner or something and she wants to gift us the limo. GREAT!I know this one might sound a bit Bridezilla-ish...but when she told me all she said is , okay, don't worry about the limo, I got it. I said thank you, I actually have that handled through my concierge but she insisted and I said okay. Fast forward a few months, FI calls me and tells me she can only get a white limo. I kinda don't like white limos (please, no offense to anyone) I would of liked a black one or a rolls royce. She said she couldn't do it, thats what I'm getting. HUH??? I kindly reminded her not to worry about it, I can get a FREE limo (any color or style I want mind you) from my concierge, she does a lot of business for this company and since I'm her boss they would like to gift that to us. Once again she insisted and says she's already booked it, now I'm stuck :(OI!!! Okay...Vent over!

    I don't think it's bridezilla-ish. I would be annoyed to. I don't think that it's that you aren't grateful but I just believe that if people are going to insist on something then they should fulfill their promises. On another note...if you are unable to change it...it's still nice whether it's black or not.

    i feel you on that. Having your mind set on something and then having it work out differently kinda stinks. Well maybe you could use that limo to take you to the venue and your free limo to drive you away.

    Oh boo!! Anyway you could perhaps ask her to gift your something else? Is your reception and ceremony in the same local? You could use the white limo for your bridal party... and then get the RR for yourself!

    Ok that makes NO sense.She is insisting on getting you a limo even though you already have one for free?And she KNOWS it's not what you want, and you could get what you want for free and she still insists?I would tell her that you appreciate the gesture but you've got it taken care of. And if she pushes just say, thanks but we're all set. Just stay firm and keep saying it. If she pitches a fit then she's nuts and I would talk to your FI to talk to her! GL

    :| I concur with pp, use the offered white limo for the bridal party and the Rolls Royce for vous. Seriously, your sister in law pulled an annoying act. I'd have had a conniption.

    tell her the limo was not really the style that you were going for. as well that you had your heart set on the RR for the pictures. (that's why my sister got the RR, just to take pictures with it)Well girly the best of luck to you and hope all goes well.

    First I would suggest having your FI talk to her. My FI is very good at intercepting with the FIL's when he knows there is something that I won't like or don't want that they might insist upon. If that doesn't work, maybe use the white limo for your bridal party.
