No Inner Envelope?

Hi! So I'm in the process of ordering/assembling parts of invitations. My photographer that did our engagement photos made our main invitations. The rest of the inserts I ordered and created myself through VistaPrint to keep it lower cost.... It looks really nice, but since I didn't do this all from a kit, I have only outer envelopes. I had the post office weigh one and I would only need 1 stamp as it is (plus one for the RSVP inside of course) So would it be bad to not have inner envelopes? Or else where could I find nice envelopes? If I don't have inner envelopes do I just list everyone invited on the front of the envelope? Thanks!

I know some of the other gals did this (and it's what I'm doing) in lieu of inner envelopes you just list exactly who is invited on the RSVP card. That way it is more personal and there are no shockers when the RSVP cards come back.

I am not using inner envelopes.  I included exactly who is invited on the response card.  For the most part, I am also not inviting children. So, for a couple, on the outer envelope it would say Mr. and Mrs. John DoeAddressCity, State Zipon the RSVP card, I have listed Jane DoeJohn DoeThere is a space for each to mark accept/decline and a space for each to choose their meal option. For a family where kids are invited (we are only inviting immediate family kids)...If they only have one kid, I wrote the kid's nameMr. and Mrs. John DoeBaby DoeAddressCity, State ZipThen, each was listed on the RSVP card as above. If they have more than one kid, I wrote "and family"Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and familyAddressCity, State Zip(To be honest, I would have listed all the kids names.  But, this family is about to have baby #3 and I don't know what his name will be.  Invites will go out before he's born.  I did put "Baby Lastname" on the RSVP card, tho)Then, each was listed on the RSVP card as above.  In this case, I actually made one RSVP card for the parents and one for the kids.Sorry, this was probably TMI.

I didn't do inner envelopes. We did invite kids, so on the outer envelope we did "The X Family". It worked out fine and I didn't have too many shockers with RSVPs. GL!

I'm not inviting kids either, but am listing the guests who are invited on the response cards only because some people have adult children and feel that everywhere they go their children are welcome!

The inner envelope is really just a tradition from back when the outer envelopes used to get destroyed in the mail, so it is really up to you. If, however, you decide to go with an inner envelope, xpedx stores have quite a large supply of envelopes from stock to linen, but depending on your envelope size, you might be limited. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will look lovely!

We didn't have inner envelopes (we just had the outer envelope & our pocketfold).  Like pp, I put all invited guests on our RSVP card.  I've got a pic in my bio under "all things paper" if you need an idea for formatting the RSVP card with guest names. :-)Good luck!
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
