lisa rigby photography?

i know that there are a few boston knotties who have used lisa rigby. we're considering using her for our wedding but are thinking that maybe we should go w/someone who has more experience? or maybe our photos with her would be too "art-y"? (more FI's concern on that one.)it would be great if anyone that's used her could share their thoughts ...FI and i have just about reached our saturation point in terms of looking at photog sites/blogs ... i just want to hire someone already! :)

I am actually meeting her this weekend because I am also considering using her as well.  I'll let you know what I think and maybe that will help?

I'm getting my wedding photos from her by the end of this week so I'll be able to speak about it more accurately then. She did our e-pics (see Planning Bio). Obviously, I was okay with working with her despite her newness. I viewed it as an asset because she wants to impress and try different poses/angles. That said, experience has its obvious perks. As far as being too "art-y,"  I think that's a personal choice. I like the "art-y" detailed shots since I put a lot of time into my wedding details and I communicated that to her before the wedding. You need to find a photographer whose style matches yours and then let him or her know what types of photos you'd rather see more of.Good luck! I remembering hitting that saturation point! At some point you just have to go with your gut.

We're also using Lisa - she did our e-pics (slideshow in bio) and I was mostly happy with them. I say mostly because I'm a control freak :) As with any photographer, you don't get to see every image shot and that drives me nuts! But I love her style, it really matches mine - and that's what was important to me in finding a photographer. I knew I wanted to work with her before we even got engaged, and meeting her in person sealed the deal - she was the first vendor I booked for our wedding actually. Like Jeni said - I saw her "newness" as a great asset. So many photogs I had looked at seemed all the same - I thought Lisa had a fresh eye. So I saw it as a pro - the only con I saw from our e-pics was that she focused on the shot so much, she missed things about us that drove me nuts - like hair in the face or clothes out of place - I'm crazy hypercritical of myself though - and admittedly, it's hard to see myself in photos and through someone else's eyes! Anyways, bottom line, I'm really happy we chose Lisa - picking a photog can be really difficult, just go with your gut on who you think the best fit for your style and personality is!

thanks for your responses, ladies! i *super* appreciate it! i feel pretty confident that lisa would do a great job if we booked her (and she would certainly be the most economical choice of all the people we're looking at) but i guess i'm just afraid of taking that true photojournalistic leap! ;) and on a completely vain note, i have a love/hate relationship with my bangs and it would suck to see them all messed up in our wedding pics!*stephanysamuels - would be great to hear your thoughts post-meeting!

erilou and ldub make great points. Lisa is an artist. If you do end up going with her, I would definitely mention to her to be aware of your bangs and to let you know to fix it if it's out of place. I mentioned it in my review of her, but a simple tip like that would have saved some photos for us. I also requested she let us see more options from our wedding photos, even if they weren't her best work. Her choice of favorites differed than our favorites and we didn't want to lose a great photo of ourselves because we never had the chance to see them. As ldub mentioned, she's looking for artistic photos to share on her blog. As a client, we care more about how we look. In the end, she was a photographer better suited to my style, not my fiance.

Anyone else have RECENT reviews or thoughts about Lisa Rigby as a photographer? I am thinking about booking her for my wedding in 2012... Is she a little less "new" now? And how did you get her to show you ALL of the images instead f just the artsy ones that she chose?

She is great and I highly recommend her.  Yes, she is "artsy," but she took the most amazing candids of us, our friends, and family, and that is why I would recommend her.  We were looking for all the candid moments and definitely got hundreds of spectacular photos.  She is very professional and a really sweet person.
