Thank You's for gifts before the shower?

We received our first gift in the mail yesterday from FI aunt who I am assuming wont make the shower. The shower is not until July 1st, should we send a thank you right away or wait until after the shower? Thanks!

    Yes, send a thank you note now and don't mention if you think it's a shower or wedding gift.  It will be one less thank you to write and she will know you received the gift.  I would also pull it out and check that it isn't broken/works in case it needs to be exchanged.
