Chandlers was our second choice. We may have booked if the larger room was available. As it was, only the smaller room was available and that would have been cramped.  Plus they would have to break down the head table after dinner to make room for dancing. The ladies there were very helpful and I'm sure they would have been great to work with.  The prices are pretty good too and they throw in extras if you book for certain times of the year. The grounds are gorgeous too! Very well maintained and available for pictures.

We're going to a wedding there next month. That being said, we did look at the facility to have our reception. This was the second place we looked at and the we absolutely fell in love with the first place. That being said, unless any other place was the freaking Trump tower it was going to be hard to woo us. However, I was not impressed by the sales staff there. They made us wait outside of their office while they finished (a rather loud) chat fest after being notified that their next appointment was there. When we walked into the sales office it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in about a decade. Further, it looked like they were getting ready for a garage sale b/c of all the centerpiece material they had lying around. When our sales lady showed us around the facility I realized that they can hold several different types of events at the same time. They had all different size rooms ranging from small to very large. So, that could be a plus.At one point when we were downstairs looking at the big room, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen and it was kind of dirty....and I'm being nice. One thing that was a big strike against this venue for us was that they do not allow you to go out on the golf course to take pictures. Maybe we had a bad sales experience, but I was not blown away by Chandler's at all. I hope others had a better experience. That being said, we booked with the first place we visited.

Thanks for the replies!  Thats strange that they dont let you take pictures on the grounds...isnt that one of the perks of getting married at a golf course?  If you dont mind me asking, whihc venue did you book?

We had  our reception there and LOVED it.  Full review in the vendor reviews.Basically, we had a wonderful experience with them.  The reception went perfectly, the food was awesome, the DJ and cake (through Chandler's) were the best, and our rep, Kathy, was just awesome. To throw it in, they are pretty reasonably priced.  I had the opposite experience (mine was really positive) of the poster above in terms of cleanliness but if you want more info about that please email me.  Their staff, all-around, is top notch.I have photographs of how we had the ballroom decorated as well as pictures of the cake, the room setup and the head table.  Please email me if you want more info dizzyc1018 at yahoo.

Oh, I wanted to add that they don't let you take photos because a couple of years ago there were some serious issues with weddings causing some damage on the couse and generally being disrespectful and the superintendent threw a fit.A few bad apples ruin the whole bushel.

The outside and immediate grounds were nicely landscaped, but the golf course looked even better! I was wondering why no photos are allowed on the course. I used to be a caddy (for 6 years) as a kid so I know how expensive the up-keep and repairs can be. That's such a shame that grown adults can't respect their surroundings! That being said, we booked with The Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove. We booked in 2008 for our 2010 wedding and they were taking bookings well into 2011 at that point too. We will be able to take pics on the course, however it will only be me, FI and our photog. If you want any more information, please feel free to email me at hostetlerar at yahoo dot com.

I went to a wedding at Chandler's last summer. The food was great, the ballroom was pretty, and we had just the best time!Partly due to this, we decided to have our wedding there too! My FI really liked it here! This was his favorite spot. We haven't had a bad experience yet. Everyone is very helpful, and nice. We'll be in the ballroom downstairs next summer.
