OOT Bags

There was a post yesterday morning about things to put in an OOT bag and it gave me the idea to include local treats in my OOT bags. I would like to do some OOT bags for my guests who will be traveling long distances so that they can enjoy some local treats and I would fill them with things that they could eat while they are up there for the weekend of the wedding. My wedding is in the Adirondacks in October. Based on the feedback on that post, I was thinking that I can do: 1. Saratoga water, Stewarts soda and/or Adirondack soda 2. Friehofers chocolate chip cookies 3. Apples (Cortlands, Empires or Macs) 4. Some kind of donuts from that area Are there any candies or other snacky foods that are non-perishable that you can only get in NY? (I've lived in MD for 16 years now so my memory is not the best for figuring this out.) I'd like to include some things that will keep for a few days without needing refrigeration. TIA

Maple syrup or honey from a local place would be cool.

I think you have a pretty good list there.  Unless you really want to put more in, I wouldn't.  The only thing I can think of is black and white cookies or similar italian cookies that you really can't get outside of NY.

If it's in the Lake George/Saratoga area, you could do ribbon candy from The Boston Candy Kitchen in Glens Falls.  It was featured by Martha Stewart a while back and is AWESOME.

FYI - Boston Candy Kitchen only makes their ribbon candy in the winter.  Just went to get some today.  Finally putting my OOT bags together!  Wedding is next weekend!  Yay!!!Here's what I have in them so far...Saratoga WaterFreihofers cookiesStewarts Root BeerGranola barsMapLocal information (a brochure I made, see bio for pics)Contact information (see bio)I'm also going to go back to Boston Candy Kitchen as it gets closer (later next week) and get small bags of their truffles for each.  It's not ribbon candy, but it's still delicious!I'll also put some apples in there next week.Oh, and they're BIG paper bags, because the paper bag was invented in Saratoga.I'm trying to find some local potato chips (also invented in Saratoga), but I'm not having any luck.  Any suggestions? Thanks! When it's all together I'll take a pic for my bio.
