I'll be MIA today. FI's parents are already on their way to commence deck building.

What'd everyone get done last week? On the docket for this week?

I got all the flowers I order. I got 10 bouquets for $7 each! I only need 5 for BM bouquets, the rest will be used for mock centerpieces and I'll probably order more for all of them.

FI's mom reserved a pavilion in the state park for our RD. We get it for the whole day, dawn til dusk, for only $175. She said to go ahead and invite everyone whose invited to the wedding and to put an additional rsvp on the invites. I'm really excited she wants to include everyone. It'll be like two wedding extravaganza! They include picnic tables so we just need to find a caterer. I plan on bringing that up with her today and hopefully we can start getting that ball rolling in the next week or so.

My dress shopping appointments are a week and a half away! I should probably stop eating ice cream for breakfast.

Excited to see what kind of dress you pick, cnf.

This week FI and I went through out guest list again and finally decided on how we would cut down our friend guest list. We also talked to his mom and got the final say on her side of the family, just waiting on my mom to make her final cuts and then I'll be sending out the STD's.

Tomorrow I am going to the florist, hopefully my mom will meet me there but I might be going solo. I'm not making any major decisions, just reserving the spot with a friend of ours who works there so I know that I can have her and not pay full price for flowers.

We are having a block party at my house Sat and have a bunch of family and friends coming over. My dad got sparklers for the kids, and the BM is going to do a test photo of FI and I to see how the sparklers come out in daytime pictures. Our church does not let us throw stuff ourside of the church (I don't think, or someone has to clean it all up, I have to double check) so I was thinking of giving people sparklers for when we leave the church.

So I booked the florist and talked to my moms friend who is going to cater the event for us. We also set up a cake tasting appt for August and figured out the package we want from the photographer/videographer. Now we just have to send the deposit. As far as today goes, my fianc and I are going to a party with my friends for about an hour then we have to head to my family's party, and neither of us is excited for that. My fathers side of the family tends to do nothing but argue and pout like children after about 2 hours.

Well I FINALLY have some minor updates. I made my "in lieu of favors" donation cards to honor my uncle, and they arrived quickly so they are already here. I will be making my lace rings soon that will secure them to the napkins at each table setting. I also just got my order in for inserts to go with my STDs. I am inviting everyone who wants to come on the cruise we are doing 2 days after the wedding, so far a good handful of people are interested but I am still including the info for everybody. This means I can send out STDs now, I just need to get all the addresses.

ALSO my dad and I were finally able to find time together to go visit the florist. We are using pretty inexpensive flowers AND on top of it she will take off 10% because she is my father's friend. Just waiting to hear the official quote before making her official.

I also just emailed the Best Western by my venue and will be beginning the process of reserving a block for our wedding.

I got an email this morning telling me my wedding dress has arrived! It wasn't supposed to be here until Sept so that's exciting! Other than that I've been super busy at work because July 1st was the start of the new fiscal year so I haven't done any planning and have barely had time to lurk never mind post!

I updated my diy centerpiece by adding more marbles, a silver ribbon at the top, and more branches. I posted the pic on the fb page but if anyone wants to see it here I can post a thread for it. I decided to do my bridal bouquet in silks instead of real flowers so the florist deposit went down to $45!!! She is doing 2 centerpieces for the wedding party table also.

I was hoping to book the officiant next week but since FI a/c died suddenly idk if that will happen

ugh! I hate surprises sometimes lol.

I started working on the bridesmaids bouquets. I call it phase 1 lol. Last, the flower girl dress arrived and FITS!

Nerd Alert. Ever since I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1) I have wanted a tent like the one in the wedding scene, particularly the fabric they have hanging around the parimeter of the tent. I was thinking I would just buy myself some sheers and paint a design on them. Well, the cheapest sheers I've found are $5 for one 4ft panel. And with a 40x20 tent, that would get kinda expensive.

Yesterday I went to IKEA and found sheer netting which was $5 for two 8 foot panels. I was so excited! I got all the sheers I needed (plus 2 extra to allow for mistakes) for $27!

I also found some awesome lanterns at Target that FI and I both liked, but they were $7/ea. They went on sale to $2.48. So I bought 25 of them to decorate with.

FI calls me a shopping ninja. I kinda like it

We've sent the contract and deposit to our musician, so now we are all set with that part. Other than that we haven't done anything major, we have a camping trip coming up this weekend so we've been mostly getting ready for it - figuring out who brings what, making sure we have all the supplies, etc.

I went dress shopping with my BM's and we all agreed on a dress so that's done. I'm pretty sure I have my flower girl dress selected I just want to pick my dress before we make any commitments. We picked all of our stationary, now I'm just waiting for the quote for everything. I have an appointment with my venue/DOC on August 5th to look at all the remodeling and talk linens and other decorations and another dress appointment on August 7th with everyone(my mom, sister, nieces, BM's, FMIL and probably a few others) so hopefully I'll find the one that day. I also plan on going to a florist that day to get some ideas on pricing. Until the I will just be looking for interesting details to add to the wedding.

Wow! All of you are making great progress with your planning or as much as you can do at the time being. I actually feel like I am getting no where. I mean I did only get engaged a week ago but I still feel like I should have a lot planned by now. All I have are ideas and colors. My colors are yellow and white. I have an idea about the style of my dress but I have no idea when to start looking or when to set an appointment. I also have ideas for BM dresses and centerpieces. I am still not sure of what flower I want for my wedding or where the ceremony or reception will be held.

My mom did tell this past week that she found a photographer and said she was going to pay for it. It was such a relief to hear that from her. FI and I were not going to ask for any help financially during tough times like these. Now I just need to see samples and give an ok for the photographer so I know for sure I have one for the wedding.

I remembered one thing that I didn't add to the 2 months MIA post.

We organized our photog. FI is an avid photographer but unfortunately, he can't take the pics for his own wedding (though I'm sure he'd love to try).

My college roomate's mother is a semi-pro/amature photog who does a about 5-6 weddings a year. She's a super low budget option, and we will have to do alot of work on our own photographs to touch them up/make our own album. But FI has all the software for that and it will be nice to have someone we know who has a passion for this stuff there on the day.

So that's exciting! One more check on the list!
