How freaked would you be

if you were stuck in an elevator? There has been an announcement on the PA system in our building that there are people stuck in the elevator. I would say they have been there for about 30-45 minutes. The fire department is one site, helping with this. I personally would have a panic attack and a meltdown. My adrenaline rushes when the elevator does an irregualr movement.

Not at all stuck elevators happened all the time in my 1st apartment building. Bored and annpid but not a trace of panic

I'd just sit there bored; hopefully I would have my phone and internet access with it. I don't mind elevators at all and I like small spaces.

My only issue would be my bladder the size of a pin. I wouldn't freak out but I would probably have to pee pretty badly.

I wouldn't mind at all if I was stuck in there with someone I knew. Even if I didn't know them, as long as they were pleasant people and not freaking out, I'd be fine. I will say, though, you can get to our reception location by elevator, but I will not be taking that chance! In that case, I might freak a little, but I could still have a good laugh about it, especially if DH was in there with me.

It depends on if I was the only one. Then yes I would need a change of pants. But if I was with others I could joke about it. Yesterday I was leaving the office and got in one, before I pushed the button it went up a few inches... with the doors still open!! then it went back to where it was supposed to be but the door never closed and I never pushed a button. I decided the stairs were a better idea...

That happend to DH about 6 months ago. He freaked. The alarm was not working and he had to call Security to get him out. funny thing is I just happend to be near security when the call came in and thought 'wow that sucks'. I didn't know at the time it was him.

Yeah, there was one elevator in my building that used to be possessed. It just wouldn't open one day. So finally after 5 minutes it took me to the ground and I got the fuuck out and never took that elevator again.

FI is an elevator mechanic. This happens ALL the freakin' time. The only time that I have personally been stuck, he was with me, and he got us out in 2 seconds. I have learned that elevators aren't scary (though, I would still panic if I was alone). The only time they are dangerous is when you are a) the mechanic and you're on top of the car and b) when the elevator is running with it's doors open -- decapitation anyone?

Ha! My mom and I got stuck in an un-airconditioned elevator in Mexico once. We were sweating to beat the band. After about five minutes, we just started laughing uncontrollably. It was one of the best and worst times ever.

Yeah, I always say "you don't want to be stuck in an elevator with me" I do not like small spaces, and I hate elevators on a good day. I would most definitely have a panic attack.

I would freak, but not as bad as the time I was in an elevator that dropped suddenly. Holy crap, I broke out in a cold sweat from that one.

I spent about 15 minutes stuck on one for awhile. I didn't know the people I was stuck with so it was a bit awkward but not too bad.Probably would've been more irritating at the end of the day rather than the start

I get freaked out by a lot of things, but elevators aren't one of them. I'd rather spend four hours stuck in an elevator than on an airplane for example. Hate flying.

I HAVE been stuck on an elevator. It was when I was moving out of an apartment back in 2002. The fire department had to come, axes and all, to get us out. And it was just me and my ex-BF's mom. I was trying to stay calm, but it really did get my blood pressure up.

They are called J-Hooks... and they are vicious little bastards. If I have to moved FI's work van, I usually get stabbed in the butt by one. It's funny how the media portrays it with the axes and crap... when in all reality, all it takes is a piece of coathanger bent a certain way to unlock the door. So not remotely dramatic. I can see why the axes are used. *yawn*

I think I would only freak out if I was in a crowded elevator. If it was just me and 1 or 2 other people I think I could keep my cool.
