Vera Bradley hate?

Did I miss this somewhere? HT's duffel confession seems to indicate so.My SIL's family is all batshit over these things and I'm like, Dude, you know that is a fukcing old lady quilted purse, right? They are just awful. They remind me of 1980s craft shows, not cool hipster craftshows like they have now. Who else owns one of these abominations, so I can mock you all at once?

I own a garment bag, but it was a gift. I use it because it fits a crap load of clothes and travels well.

It is shameful, but I kno no one will steal my bag. At least it is the brown and blue pattern, which is less obnoxious than the pink and green one.

Eh, luggage is luggage. I don't really judge duct-taped garbage bag luggage. However, duct-taped garbage bags would be more fashionable than "Vera." (My SIL's siter gave her kid "her first Vera!" And she called it that, just the first name. Vomitous! First and last, I hope, if my SIL is fit to be a parent.)I mean, if my grandmother carried it, I'd be like, "Oh cute" or whatever. But even with my 50-something mother, I'd be like, "Mom. No."

I have the giant pink duffel bag. It's handy for weekend trips when I can travel under the cover of darkness so no one sees me carrying it.

Just like crocs, I have never found vera Bradley purses all that objectionable. Not something I would carry but my eyes don't light on fire when I see someone carrying one. My mom carried one but she was a sixty something cute grandma!

i loooove my VB stuff. my two rules: i do NOT like the old lady patterns, and i do NOT like VB purses. all my stuff is for travel.... duffels, makeup bags, flatiron cover, jewelry case, etc. my large and small duffel are the only ones that match, the rest are just a melange of color. i really could give a giant rat's turd how "cool" my travel bags are. they're easy to identify and they're good quality for travel.

The duffel I have is black with a small pattern. It's a good size for a weekend trip. I like it because it's soft, so I can use it as a pillow on the train. I have a little purse from high school that's much more brightly colored, but I don't like it anymore. I keep some of my knitting in it. How's that for old lady?

VB was EVERYWHERE at my college and I hated it. I think having a full set was a requirement for sorority membership. My carpool partner even has a VB hair straightener cover (and makeup bag and wallet and every other thing under the sun).

exMIL used to volunteer to work some sort of VB free-for-all sale that is up in Ft. Wayne every year. She couldn't STAND that I hated VB, and would continue to press me on the subject. "Have you seen the one that is mostly black??" They are all quilts. I hate them.
