You were once really close with a friend, you still talk to them weekly, but not as close as you once were. How much do you spend on a Baby shower gift? Tks

    I would say it depends on your financial situation. How much would you normally spend if you talked with them daily?

    for regular friends, i stick around the $40 mark, for close friends and family usually $50

    It really depends on your financial situation. For my best friend's shower, I spent $35. I'm also unemployed so anything is a stretch. Best Friend was very worried about some people giving far beyond their means and deeply embarrassed by this.In general, when employed, I look to spend 30-40 for people I am not too close to.

    The general consensus seems to be the same with everyone. When my friends asked me what spent, and I told them… they said I overspent by $120….eekkk. So instead of returning things to the baby’s registry, my friends just divvied the gifts between the four of them and gave me the money. So overall now I only spent $60.. I guess I got caught up.. plus baby stuff isn’t cheap
