Wedding Cake Quotes Online

Hi everyone,I'm an old knottie that will now be back on the boards. I'm planning my friend's wedding in October and I'm trying to get some quotes for a cake online.  I don't seem to be having any luck.  No one answers me back.My friend refuses to go and see vendors and wants everything done as much as possible online.  She will only go and see a vendor once she knows they are in her price range. So any suggestions?

I found it was really good to send an email with the specifics and maybe even include a picture.  All the vendors were great at getting back to me though.  Are you giving the price range up front, or just what you are looking for?2nd the phone call too, I know it's more work but vendors like to do busines over the phone.  Craigslist or Kajiji? They might have some home bakers on there too and are typically more budget-friendly.

Welcome back onetier! How's life? I had success getting online quotes from 2 bakers - The Wedding Cake Shoppe and Patricia's Cake Creations. Also, Dufflet's pricing is pretty clearly outlined on their website.

Our baker in Burlington is incredibly affordable and they make really nice cakes too.  I'm not sure how far out they deliver, but our 3 tier cake with about 120 servings was only $230.Lakeview PastryBut really, I don't think a phone call is all that much more work than an e-mail.

I agree with the pps - the more information you can give the bakery, the more likely they are to respond. At a minimum your friend needs to know how many servings, and sometimes things that seem like small details, like the shape of a tier, can make a big difference. We didn't have much choice about where to get our cake - we had to use the kosher bakery our venue goes through for all its kosher baked goods. But we discovered that because it's not all they do, they were extremely reasonably priced ($350 for a delicious, albeit relatively simple, 3 tier cake feeding 180 people).

I didn't get a quote online from our baker, but he was really good at returning e-mails and phone calls. It's Mitchell's Bakery. It's a husband and wife team who run a cake business out of their home. Anyone you e-mail, I would give as much detail as possible and then give them a price range. Ask them if they can meet it. If they can't, they might not answer you. Also, the cake was one of the best parts for me, at least you get to try cake, right?  You definately don't want to book without trying the person's product first.

Im using Mitchels cakes too, if its the same husband and wife team. They are great so far. They did not give a quote online but just give them a call. Also you could get a great idea of their prices on their website, thats what I did, made sure it sounded affordable before cheching it out www.mitchels.ca

Thanks for all the help girls!  The reason I wanted an online quote is because I have a picture I'd like to send to get an exact replica of this cake that the bride wants.I will check all those places you have all suggested.
