Question for you...

Hey Knotties, So I think we’ve all seen Jill and Kevin’s wedding processional. There have been lots of chat on the boards about it, whether you love it or not, I want to know if you've seen anything like this at a wedding or plan on doing it at your wedding? It seems like we’ve went from a choreographed first dance to this. I’d love to hear what you’ve seen at weddings or receptions since this has become a trend. You can email me at ajones@theknot.com or post below. Thanks so much!Annie

I have seen nothing like that...only on tv or you tube.  I think it is hilarious for other people but not something I would ever do :)

I loved watching it (and, if I'd been a guest, I would have enjoyed it very much), but it's not something I would do myself. For me, the ceremony is not a show- especially if it's in a church sanctuary. Music is meant to accompany the union of two people with each other and God, not turn a ceremony into a concert or performance. While I would never do it myself, I can understand and appreciate how other couples might see the ceremony differently than I do. Knowing this, I can still appreciate this grand entrance for what it is-- one heck of a great show!

I'll be the party pooper and say that I didn't really find it amusing. Maybe you had to know the couple or be there, but I thought the video was kind of boring.

it was cute. I'm all for a show, but not at the ceremony. It was also too long. For the reception, sure. We plan on doing something fun, but not a 5 minute song.

Cute? Yes.... Appropriate?? Not in my book. Definately something that should be done at the reception and not the ceremony. IMHO

I totally agree wtih Allison! Cute but I'd never do it!  It was also a bit long in my opinion! I think it would be better for like the bridal party entrance into the reception!

I think that was a little long and boring.  I don't see anything wrong with doing something different as entering the reception.  We would be having a unique wedding and a unique entrance also in about 2 1/2 weeks :)

i think it's funny! we kept our ceremony really conservative to honor 'the marriage' and the holiness of it all for our parents, grandparents, and the church. we had respect for the ceremony in itself eventhough dave and i are as liberal as they come.our reception on the other hand was F-U-N!p.s. dave and i did JUMP ON IT from the dance from the fresh prince of bel-air. youtube it. it's great!it was sooooooo funny and everyone laughed. it was fun! a surprise ;)we also did the have-ne-gila, jewish chair dance. we aren't jewish! i'm no jew, but i loved it when i've been to jewish weddings in the past and pre-dave, i remember thinking.. when i'm a bride one day, i'm doing the havenegila dance. so much fun! so worth it! i'm glad i wasn't scared to do it. i'm liberal!so much fun!! everyone was excited, surprised and said 'it was the most fun wedding they've ever been to'.
