Wedding Planner Cost?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could share the cost of full wedding planning services and Day of Coordination costs?  I'm planning an Indian wedding this summer and debating between the two options.  In case anyone has this info for an Indian wedding, that would be even more helpful!

    katie parker is new in chicago and my cube mate is using her. i can't remember what she said but maybe she used to work for brides magazine. it was one of the magazines but couldn't tell you which one. Simply Eventful Parties is her site. sometimes with people who are new to an area, you can get them at reduced pricing which is what i think the bride I work with is doing.

    Full service in Chicago area tends to run $4-8K and DOC averages a little over $1k. There will be people who are less and there will be people who are over...but I am a STRONG believer in getting what you pay for.  I did not have an Indian wedding, but I do know they are multiple days...so your pricing will be a bit higher if you need them to help at all the events.

    I loved my coordinator and she falls in the ranges above. I would recommend her if you are looking...Simply Perfect by Melissa

    I usually agree with BeeMarried that you get what you pay for, but my DOC, Debbie Donovan, usually charges around $500 for her services (though multi-day events may be more) and she was absolutely fantastic. Thanks to her my day was stress free and I didn't have to lift a finger or worry about a thing.

    When I was interviewing wedding planners, a few seemed to have a handle on South Asian weddings including Ali Phillips and Samaya Events.  Good luck with your wedding planner search!

    I agree that you get what you pay for for sure! I used Shannon Gail to plan my entire wedding and she was around 4,000 I think. There are actually pictures on her site from an Indian wedding so she must have experience doing them! Here's the link: www.shannongail.com then click on "blog"
