Printer for DIY invitations

I know there was a whole thread on this before but I cannot find it...I am DIYing my STDs and invites.  The design is something I cannot do through VistaPrint or any other website.  Instead of using all the ink in my printer, I'd like to have some of the pieces printed professionally, like through Kinkos or Minute Man Press.  Has anyone done this?  If so, was it cost effective?  I only need about 50-60 copies.  TIA!

I did not do it, but as a teacher, I get stuff printed (usually 8.5x11 paper) in color all the time at Staples, and it's really inexpensive compared to Office Max and Kinkos.  I don't know about other stuff, though, so you should check it out :-)

Oh office max is a good idea! We called kinkos about ours and after hearing it was going to be $1.20 per sheet of paper for using blue ink we just printed them at home. Oh! And they said thicker paper doesn't always work in their machines and recommended a local shop instead.

Office Max might not be cheaper - they wanted $1.14 per sheet for our menu cards, because it was specialty paper (65# and shimmery). Printing at home (on our super P.O.S printer) worked fine, and was much cheaper.

I had my invitations printed through cardsandpockets.com, it was .20-.40 per sheet, full color, cut to size and included the cost of paper.
