Do I need to pick wedding colors? Or should I?

I am havin a July wedding. I love the dark red, crimson, scarlet color for bridesmaid dresses. My bouquet will cosist of mixed flowers or roses, centerpieces as well. Do i need to pick a theme color for the wedding. I will either have white lines or the color of bridesmaid dresses. What do you guys think for a summer wedding?

    I'm also having a summer wedding (Aug '13) and I'm not sure what you need to do but I'm planning on picking two main colors (probably purple and either gray/silver) and then an accent color - probably pink or green? The decor at my venue is minimal and so the brides can really choose any colors to decorate the space.
