Back from Hawaii and married! and a rant!

Phew, it's been SO long since I've been on the Knot!!!  Considering all the rain we've had, we had GREAT weather ... despite the Limo breaking down .... that's right, not only did our original photog double book us, but the LIMO BROKE DOWN on the way to Mass!!!If you go to the website http://www.andrewslimousine.com/weddings.htm, you'll notice a white limo, but oh no ... the RED one came!  It was like the bait and switch .... despite the girl verbally verifying that it was going to be \Yes, ANDREWS LIMOUSINE refunded me, but the f-ed up thing is that they told us to take it up with Antique limo, because that's who they use for the Antique Cadillac ... but Andrews is who our CONTRACT is with.  I work for a consulting firm .... and if we're the PRIME contractor, then you better believe that we take full responsibility for anything our SUB contractors do!

Ugh, that sucks, but at least it sounds like things worked out well enough in the end. Hope you at least had a great day and an awesome time in Hawaii. Where in HI did you go?

There was a HUGE accident on 495 that day, so luckily (I guess!) guests and even DH and GM were running behind as well!We did a week in Maui and a week in Kauai ... LOVED it, I think this was the most depressed I've ever been returning from a vacation!

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt, it was great!!  and Four Seasons on Maui.  I think we liked Kauai as an Island better.

Absolutely loved the Grand Hyatt. Gorgeous hotel. Did you have the rate with their breakfast buffet included daily? OMG, I swear I gained at least 5 pounds by the end of the week with that. The fruit was so fresh and delicious. We timed eating there so that it would count for breakfast and lunch. Soooo much food! Granted I ate my fair share of food during other meals, especially the luau there. If you want a good laugh, check out how much food is on my plate in the pic in my bio. I went a little overboard, but I'm pretty sure I ate all of it!

Sorry to hear about your wedding mishaps! I too just came back from my Hawaii honeymoon and I want to go back so bad. The Grand Hyatt was amazing!

Look at all that smoke! Yeah, that was definitely a problem. Hope you didn't let it ruin your day. The fire alarms went off during my wedding. What can you do? Good thing you fought for the refund.

How was the Four Seasons in Maui?  We are staying for 12 days (really 10 when you consider arriving and leaving) at the Four Seasons and I've heard rave reviews. That is horrible about the limo but at least you got a refund!

jwatts - the Four Seasons was AAAMAZING!  we went to the Hyatt after in Kauai, which was also really nice, but we almost felt like we 'downgraded'.  They have attendants who come around and bring water, fruit, jello, etc while you're at your seat.  They also have attendant who come 'set up your chair' with a special fitted chair cover and towels. You MUST eat at Spago, we went twice.  Not sure when you're going, but they had a 3 course prix fixe menu, where the entrees were normal entree size ... it was amazing.
