Alright, I am trying to figure out the best way to go about this.
I am hosting a Luau with my fiancé this summer, and we are sending out invites next week. I have all of them finished except for one, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to word the invite. The invite is for my Uncle’s daughter and her two children.
I can’t put ‘Smith Family’ on the envelope because they are currently going through a divorce, and I am not inviting the husband.
Would it be best to address it to ‘Jane Smith’ on the envelope then call her in a few days to extend the invite to her children?
Re: NWR: How Would I Address This?
Inner: Ms. Smith
Abby, James and Thoms (in age order)
I'm actually not sure if "ladies first" appllies to children

I won't. Its just an envelope with the flip-flop shaped invite inside.
[QUOTE]Since it sounds casual, I would write Jane Smith on the top line and then Bobby & Susie underneath hers slightly indented, then the address below that.

This.
Otherwise, does the invitation itself have a spot you could write on it? Like a wide margin where you could write in "Jane, hope to see you and the kids there!" in which case you can just address it to her.
