Hey all, I don't post here often, but I do read fairly often. I've seen vendor reviews and they have really helped me out. I thought I would share my experiences thus far. Heitzman's Bakery (Taylorsville Rd): A+ This bakery has been amazing for us. We wanted a cheesecake wedding cake and we were just determined to have it. We talked to a few places and they said they could/would do them. When we went to Heitzman's, Linda Osling, informed us that there was no way we should do this. We wanted them stacked like a normal cake. She said she could just make the sell and wipe her hands clean of it, but they really didn't want to do that to us. The cakes would be the same price, so it wasn't a motivated statement. She convinced us to have a regular wedding cake and I think we're going to be very happy with them. They sent us home (2) 8" cakes (chocolate and white). They are great! These are the base for all their other cakes. We put down our deposit and we're really happy to be dealing with them. Heitzman's Bakery (Shepherdsville Rd): F I talked to this location 3 different times and had a terrible experience. They just couldn't be bothered with me. All 3 people I spoke with (some on the phone, some in person) were extremely rude and standoffish. We finally learned that they were not operated by the Heitzman's on Taylorsville Rd. Rebbeca's Wedding Boutique-A The only negative I have about this store (not bad at all!) is the size of the store. It feels a little cramped, but everything else was really great. They treated my FI like he was part of the process (which I wanted, he was with me). They listened to me and based on dresses I was picking out, picked out others for me. I dealt with Rebbeca's daughter and she was so helpful. She helped me in and out of the dresses and gave me her imput without being pushy. I'm still trying to decide on a dress, but one of the 3 top dresses is here. I would be very happy to order from here! Bridal Suite of Louisville-A+ Everything about this experience was wonderful. The rooms were nice and big, they had a nice selection (some lines that no other stores carry) and were very helpful. The owner is right there, helping the consultants and the bride. They have some really great stuff. The dress that is in the top running is from here. When I mentioned that the dress was right over my budget, she immediatley offered me a 10% discount off the dress. It didn't bring it under budget, but it did help. The also have a deal that if you get your dress and veil there, you get a shoe credit up to $100.00. This is really nice, because I have been having trouble finding regular bridal shoes that I liked. I will be getting my shoes here, regardless of where I get my dress. They are also able to dye many of their shoes, on site. The veils do seem a little pricey though. I would also be very happy to order from here. Bridal Wearhouse-D As soon as my FI and I walked in, a sales lady started giving us the stink eye. As luck would have it, she was the one to 'help' us. I had 2 dresses in mind that I wanted to try on. She reluctantly looked those up for me and put them in the dressing room for me. She didn't take them out of the bag, off the hanger or anything. She didn't help me get in the dress or zip it up. When I tried to step right out of the dressing room so my FI could zip it up (he wasn't allowed in the dressing room), she sort of yelled at me. There was another bride in there (the only other bride in the dressing room) and there were about 3 sales ladies trying to sell her a dress. You could tell they were just trying to make a sale. The bride wasn't crazy about the dress, but they didn't seem to care. They left me on my own to find other dresses and try to get in and out of them. The only reason they don't get an F is because of their larger selection and broader price ranges. I'll post more as I get more things checked off my list!
