Bouquet

Ok I am having a hard time picturing this or even finding pictures on the internet. We are doing our own bouquets. There is going to be 2 bridemaids, 3 groomsmen. I may set a bouquet on a chair for my MIA MOH!I love hydrangeas and roses. I would like them to buy orange/burnt orange and white. Would the bouquet look tacky since hydrangeas are big?Do I do the bridesmaid bouquet a little differently than mine?Can you tell I have not been to a wedding in years???Thank you ladies! You all are the bestest and I love hearing your ideas!!!

    I am doing all hydrangeas for my bridesmaids bouquets (in apple and antique green).  So that is an option for you! I don't think the roses and hydrangeas will look tacky!

    I'm using those flowers! check out my bio under "flowers" and it will explain how the bouquets will look. I don't have any pictures yet, and I can't find any online either. If it helps, my florist told me she will be using 3 stems of hydrangea in my bouquet (not sure how many roses) and then 2 stems in the BM's bouquet with 6-8 roses. HTH

    i feel like i've seen lots of bouquets of roses and hydrangea's and it seems like a really nice combination. From what I've seen the BM bouquets are usually smaller than the bride's, our's are going to be completely different (all hydrangea's for the BM and all peonies for mine) so i think you could go either way.

    in my wedding bio link below, i have a pic in there of a bouquet that had purple roses, white hydrangea, and spider mums.  perhaps that will give you an idea of how to put them all together.i warn you--hydrangea is very very heat sensitive.

    Like PP hydrangeas can also be very finickey and need lots of water so you just have to make sure you keep them in water when you are not using them. They are my favorite flower, but some of the florists I visited wouldn't use them b/c of the fact they can be difficult. I'm sure there's info out there on how to make it work... good luck... they sound like they will be beautiful. Oh & the way I've seen people use hydrangeas and other flowers is use one big hydrandea then stick the roses into the hydrangea... does that make sense?

    My friend used those flowers as center peices in her wedding and they were really pretty.. I don't really like hydrangeas though. But I don't think it would look tacky I've looked at the bouquets pictures and there's alot thats hydrangeas and roses. But yeah i work in a floral shop and hydrangeas are very very thirsty flowers. We water them almost every day or they start to wilt. So make sure you have some water to put them in and see if you can get some fresh cut flower food also that will keep them happier than just plain water. You also want to keep them cool as long as you can beore the wedding. Maybe you can keep them in a fridge or a cooler with a small amount of ice while you are getting ready.

    That's what I am using for my BM bouquets and our centerpieces. Lavendar or ivory hydrangea with bluebird roses. They make a very beautiful bouquet. The hydrangea add a lot of fullness.

    Ok I am going to go for it! I can put a cooler at the place we are getting ready at with our bouquets in them and then put the cooler in the limo with us while we are taking pictures. At the reception I will put a vase at the head of the girls seats and we can put our bouquets in there!Good, I am so excited now!!! Now off to look at prices!

    I love hydrangea! They are my favorite, and I will be using them all over the place at my wedding!Honestly, there are a few tricks with hydrangea that can really extend their bloom life.For example, my mom has a hydrangea plant in her yard in Columbus. She came to visit on a Saturday, and brought some blooms with her for me, so they were in the car for a few hours, and even while it wasn't running. When I got them I treated them, and they lasted for 2 weeks before they wilted. The blooms my mom cut for herself and did not treat wilted in a few days.BIG difference.My tricks are:1. Pour some cool water in a large bowl, and stick the entire head of the bloom under water, and leave them for about 20 minutes. This will even bring back blooms that are starting to wilt. Hydrangea's like spring!2. Trim the stems at a diagonal under running water with a sharp knife, and cut slices into the stem (like poking holes, you can also use a sewing needle for this- it gives the water more room to enter the stem)3. Boil water. After Trimming stems and poking the holes, place the stems in the HOT water for about 15-20 seconds. 4. Refresh water every few days. Hope this helps!

    I am having roses and hydrangeas for my bouquet! I will have Purple roses in the center like 4-6, the Ivory roses around that like 8-10 and the green hydrangeas around the outside of that!! Kind of a bullseye!!! It looks beautiful! Can not wait to have them! the bridesmaids are going to be just roses! So I would make your bouquet different then theirs!!! IMO!!!
