Need some advice

We are going to do a insuite reception and are planning on catering it with Masterpiece Cuisine. My only question is what else can we do in the suite besides feed everyone. I'm afraid that it's going to be so boring for people. FI and I have talked about renting a karaoke machine to entertain people but what else would you ladies suggest! TIA!

I saw some other ladies had simple board games. Jenga or catchphrase might be fun. Maybe a trivia or scavenger hunt type game about you and FI.

I am having two showgirls meet & greet with the guests. I am going to have my photographer take pictures with each of our guest and the showgirls. I figure that will take some time. I also am having Masterpiece cater the in reception.

I'm having an in-suite catered by Masterpiece also! I was wondering how I was going to "entertain" my guests too. My fiance and I decided to rent two party buses and do a Strip Tour. The mini-reception will end up being from about 5:30-7:00...which I think will leave plenty of time for every to eat the munchies and for us to cut the cake and do some mingling. It works out because I want to get strip wedding photos and our guests get to see the strip. But I think the karaoke machine is a great idea!! Take advantage of where you are too...Vegas! Maybe plan on spending a few hours in your suite and then go down to the casino and see if everyone can play poker together or learn how to play craps or something. I know at the Gold Coast hotel they have bowling....and I'm pretty sure they have midnite bowling that's only $1/game/shoes/drafts.

We are stealing the idea of having Jenga etc and I have booked Travis Allen for an hour. I think karaoke is a good idea too! However, when I panic about people being bored, I tell myself that if the reception were in a restaurant, there wouldn't necessarily be any extra 'entertainment' so I'm sure they will have just as much fun at an insuite reception. I'm really looking forward to having a nice relaxed party, where everyone has the chance to mingle and enjoy themselves

I've been looking at the showgirl option...how much is that costing for the bride who posted?

lol! I think myself singing karaoke would make people want to leave!  I'm thinking of an Elvis, and maybe a couple of show girls.

We're basically looking at our in-suite reception as an upscale cocktail party: no extra entertainment needed.  We'll play music in the background and just mingle and eat.  Because of that, the reception is only planned for about two hours. Now, we may or may not set up Rock Band or Guitar Hero the night before the wedding, which may or may not still be up when the reception rolls around.  We'll see.  ;)
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

if you have enough champagne, it'll take care of itself. i had champagne, cake, and party food and i couldn't get the guests to leave. we came back to the suite, cut the cake, toasted, and left to take pics. we had background music playing and the good thing was that the younger crowd everyone pretty much knew eachother so there were various conversations going on around the bar, sofa, and tables. the older ones left before we got back from taking pictures. if you have a crowd that is unfamiliar with eachother you may need a few conversation starters. otherwise, it'll be ok.
