Honeymoon passport question...

I just realized my passport is out of date and FI and I are going on a cruise for our HM.  Should I get a new passport with my current name, or is there a way to bypass this situation so I don't end up getting a passport with my current last name that I can only use until December when we get married and I change my last name?

    You will have to get a new passport with your current name and then change it after you are married.  And remember, the name on all your travel documents must match so be sure to book everything in your maiden name to avoid any complications.Check the passport rules.  I know there is a timeframe in which you can get another passport at no charge in cases like marriage and name change.  The timeframe might even be one year.

    You can change your name for free for up to one year after a new passport is issued. I need a new passport as well and I live in England so I can't wait. I don't think you can have a passport in your new name before you are married as it is not your legal name yet.

    Yes, you need to get a new passport in your current name and then get another one once you've changed your name.  As PP said, if this is done within one year, they will not charge you for the second passport.You cannot put your married name on the passport now because it is not your legal name.

    you need to check on the rules. i dont know if that one year change for free applies to RENEWALS. but check on that. but yes-you must get in maiden name now (your  name hasn't changed yet has it? so no married name passsport) and then change it after the wedding.
